SESSION 4 | APRIL 6, 2022

ADAPTIVE ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE

How do you create a work environment that fosters innovation and contributes to an organization's growth instead of hindering it?

Christopher B. Bingham

Christine McCarthy

CEO of TEC Leadership Institute, speaker and trainer. She has more than 25 years of experience in organizational development and a PhD in global leadership competencies. Her mission is to help leaders align personal and organizational cultural and functional divisions so they can thrive in the changing business world. She conducts workshops to build authentic cultures focused on developing agile capabilities, values and behaviors for teams and leaders.

Session description

Companies wishing to compete successfully in the market need innovation - whether product and technological, or process and organizational. They need to constantly improve their offerings and production methods in order to create unique customer value and scale up their operations.

Developing and implementing needed changes has ceased to be the domain of individuals, the so-called "change agents," and has become a task involving the entire organization. What is needed, therefore, is an organizational culture that gives space for experimentation and rewards valuable ideas, and does not punish mistakes, but allows valuable lessons to be learned for the future. What elements make up a culture of innovation? How can leaders create it and communicate its values?

Through this session you will learn:

When is organizational culture an asset and when is it a burden in a fast-paced and changing business environment?
How do we examine whether culture fosters change and innovation, rather than being a barrier to them?
What makes up a culture that tolerates ambiguity and biases against actions with incomplete information?
How do you strike a balance between being customer-focused and creating an environment that gives employees a sense of stability?
Building a culture of trust and safety conducive to innovation and challenging the status quo - tools, methods and best practices
