Training for young managers to facilitate the start of their careers
ICAN First-Time Manager™ is a training course for entry-level managers who are taking their first steps in their careers. It helps you find your way in your new role and gain confidence in your managerial position. The training equips you with a strong foundation of knowledge and competencies necessary for any manager in the areas of self and team management, communication, motivation, the role and tasks of a manager.
Is your career gaining momentum? Or are you a boss and have such people in your team or want to promote someone? The training will give the participant a good start in his or her career, and the company confidence that the newly appointed leader will perform in his or her role. To date, ICAN First-Time Manager™ has helped successfully develop the careers of as many as 4,000 managers.
What problems and mistakes of young managers are solved by training
According to research, between 40% and as many as 70% of newly appointed managers fail management expectations and lose their positions within the first 24 months. Why does this happen? There are mainly three factors contributing to a young manager's disaster:
Lack of necessary management skills
Often the best specialist on the team is promoted to the position of manager without being properly prepared for the new role. Lack of knowledge of basic management tools most often makes itself known in the first weeks of work: through decision-making errors, incompetent division of tasks in the team, and neglect of one's own duties as a result of poor time management.
Difficulties in interpersonal relations
The promoted employee becomes a boss to recent co-workers. He himself is also accountable to his new superior. The new position in the organizational hierarchy is conducive to conflicts with both the subordinate team and with equal and senior managers.
Professional burnout
With promotion, expectations of the employee change. A reorientation of thinking is necessary: from individual influence on the results achieved to the realization of goals through the team. The inability to cope with the new type of responsibilities in extreme cases ends up frustrating the manager, who tries to carry out the tasks of the whole team on his own.

Frequently asked questions
When considering the choice of training for managers and executives, it is worth first determining what competencies they need to develop. Will it be soft competencies, such as communication, motivation, feedback, mental toughness of a leader, or hard competencies, related to knowledge of specific management methods, goal setting, employee evaluation or basics of financial and economic analysis. Therefore, in order to choose the best training for an employee, it is necessary to take into account the employee's position, experience, career stage, responsibilities and business objectives to be achieved.
It is worth choosing certified training, which ends with the manager obtaining a document confirming the acquisition of knowledge and competence. The certificate is a guarantee for the company that the training is characterized by high quality and level of content, and for the employee it is a valuable element to add to his CV and a tool that builds his image as an expert in his field.
