This year's Innovation Code competition is a unique opportunity to show how a modern approach to data and traceability can realistically support a closed-loop economy (GOZ). We are looking for solutions that combine technology with responsibility - innovations that, through GS1 standards, contribute to waste reduction, product lifecycle tracking, effective recycling or resource reuse.

From waste to value: is closed loop the new foundation for competitiveness?

Can waste become a strategic resource? In an era of rising raw material costs, regulatory pressures and consumer expectations, companies are looking for new sources of advantage. The closed-loop economy is no longer just an eco-trend - it's a model that can increase efficiency, strengthen brands and open the door to innovation.

In the debate, we will talk about how to turn waste into added value, how to design products with circulation in mind, and how to build business models that pay off for both the environment and the market. We will ask industry leaders: is GOZ the choice of idealists or a hard strategy for the future?
